Frequent golfers will enjoy a new addition to tournament play when they sign up for the Village Centers’ 21st annual charity Golf Tournament March 26 – a red ball!

The setting for the tournament is the beautiful Clubs of Kingwood. This COVID-19 conscious event features lunch, mini meals at two holes, a silent auction, beverage service and culminates with an awards ceremony. Teams start at $600 and individual golfers are $150.

The new twist is, instead of mulligans, each team can participate in the ‘Red Ball Challenge’ for $50. Teams use the red ball as a mulligan throughout the round. If for any reason the red ball is lost during the round, the team will no longer have mulligans to use. At the end of the round, every team that still has a red ball will be able to drop it in to the bucket for a prize drawing. The red ball can be used one time per shot and must be hit for the mulligan.

Golfers may also purchase an all-event pass for $125 which covers the course contests and red ball challenge for a team of four.

Adding to the fun is a favorite – the golf ball drop. Tickets, which start at $20, equal a raffle ticket, which matches a numbered golf ball in the drop. The raffle winner is the person holding the ticket with the number matching the number on the ball ending up in or closest to the designated hole below the drop site. The winner receives a Visa gift card equal to half of the entire golf ball drop sales.

Registration begins at 11 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 1 p.m., and the awards ceremony ends the day at 5 p.m. Multiple sponsorship levels are available. Always popular is the tournament silent auction. This year, golfers and shoppers may peruse and purchase items that include artwork, golf packages, wines, a crawfish boil package, ladies’ golf baskets, outdoor fun baskets, a makeup junkie package, a Michael Kors watch, a pool days package and more – something for everyone.

Gather fellow golfers and register today as teams are going fast. Local businesses may wish to support the Village Centers with a hole sponsorship. For $150, a company logo or family name will be printed on a hole sponsor sign and placed on a tee box on the golf course.
