Gonzalez leads Gonzalez leads Kingwood Park at Wells Invite
Reuben Gonzalez led the Kingwood Park boys’ cross country team at the recent Kingwood/Andy Wells Invitational. The senior finished the 3-mile event in a time of 16 minutes, 19.86 seconds.

The Panthers finished 14th in the team standings at the prestigious event that included some of the top 6A teams in the state.

Atascocita

Avery Clover ran third at the recent Kingwood/Andy Wells Invitational. The junior finished in a time of 14 minutes, 9.43 seconds to lead the girls’ team to a seventh-place finish.

Nahim Abdallah ran fourth in 15:17 to lead the boys’ team to a fourth-place finish.

Huffman Hargrave

Jetzibe Trevino won the recent Dayton Invitational to lead the Lady Falcons to the team title as well. The freshman won the 2-mile run in a time of 12 minutes, 30.6 seconds.

Emmy Nolte ran fourth in 13:10.30 while Madison Shojaei (13:29.90) and Karelann Skinner (13:43.90) finished sixth and seventh respectively. Peyton Cook rounded out the Lady Falcons’ top five runners with an 11th-place finish in 14:09.10.

Humble

The Wildcats remain undefeated after a 53-9 victory over South Houston on Saturday at Turner Stadium. Humble is now 4-0 overall and 2-0 in District 22-6A play, having outscored its opponents 235-17 so far this season. The Wildcats visit Pasadena Memorial for a 6 p.m. Saturday game.

Summer Creek

Quarterback Bryan Bush threw for 152 yards and scored on a 21-yard touchdown run, but four turnovers proved too much to overcome in the Bulldogs’ 36-23 loss to Dobie on Friday at Turner Stadium.

Torrie Curry rushed for 108 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries to lead the ground attack while Elijah Beam caught four passes for 95 yards.

King Kolby added a 31-yard field goal and the Bulldogs led 23-14 midway through the third quarter before Dobie scored the final three touchdowns of the game.

Kingwood

Senior Nick Majerus ran to victory at the recent Kingwood/Andy Wells Invitational. Majerus won the race in a time of 14 minutes, 28.65 seconds, leading Kingwood to a sixth-place finish (177) in the team standings. In the girls’ division, Kingwood won the team title with a score of 62.
