Projects Hoops recently announced that the program has named Royce Huseman as director of player development for the organization. In this role, he will lead the club in training coaches, skills development, leadership training, strategy and recruitment.
Huseman brings to the basketball club a wealth of experience. As the head basketball coach at Kingwood High School for more than 30 years, Huseman accumulated 632 career wins. Under his leadership, the Mustangs made three trips to the state finals and brought home to Kingwood a state championship in 2005.
The Project Hoops Basketball Club is a nonprofit, select youth sports organization dedicated to teaching discipline, leadership and teamwork through physical conditioning and top-quality competitive basketball play. The club offers training, developmental league games, and tournaments.
Project Hoops was founded by Rodney Odom in 2005 as a dream to give back to the Kingwood basketball community. After his passing in 2008, his legacy lives on through the organization now led by his brother Rusty Odom.
