The Atascocita girls’ basketball team completed a sweep of its District 22-6A schedule and are headed to the postseason.
The Lady Eagles were a perfect 16-0 in district play (28-7 overall) and open playoff action with a 7 p.m. Monday game against La Porte at Goose Creek Memorial High School.
Shaniya Klauser and Kyleigh McGuire are among the standouts on offense while senior captain Hayden Morin, along with Elyssa Coleman and Monica Aybar, are also among the key players.
The Hargrave girls’ basketball team opens the playoffs at 6:30 p.m. Monday with Silsbee at East Chambers High School. Amber Worley scored 25 points in a 51-36 victory over Shepherd that clinched their playoff berth.
The Humble girls’ basketball team opens the postseason with a 6:30 p.m. Tuesday game against Beaumont United at Lee College in Baytown. The Lady Wildcats closed the regular season with a record of 11-6 in district and 20-14 overall.
The Kingwood girls’ soccer team remained atop the District 22-6A standings after last week’s play with a record of 6-0-1 in district and 11-1-3 overall. Savannah Moore, Janelle Dumais, Elle Smith, Alex Dumais and Emma Ebert all scored goals for Kingwood in a 5-0 victory over Pasadena.
The Kingwood Park girls’ basketball team enters the postseason with a 6:30 p.m. bi-district playoff game against Rudder at Cy-Park High School. The Lady Panthers finished the regular season as the District 20-5A runner-up with a 13-3 league record (24-10 overall). Allie Byrd and Katey Searcy are among the top players for Kingwood Park.
The Summer Creek girls’ basketball team heads to the playoffs after finishing second in the District 22-6A standings with a record of 14-2 in league play and 28-7 overall. The Lady Bulldogs take on Deer Park in a bi-district playoff game at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Crosby High School.
