Coming into last Friday’s matchup, the Summer Creek Bulldogs baseball team had won 14 straight games and was the only undefeated team in District 21-6A.
That streak, after Friday’s night’s come from behind 6-5 win by Atascocita, is now history.
In the top of the first, Summer Creek got their first three batters on base and eventually built a 2-0 lead, only to see it disappear thanks to a two-out rally in the bottom half.
After a walk, Eagles cleanup hitter Julian Rojas stepped in and blasted a two run shot to left to even the score.
From there, the Eagles took a brief lead in the third, only to see the Bulldogs respond with three in the fourth inning to take the lead.
It was a lead they held until the seventh, when, with one out, the Eagles used two walks, a single, and a sacrifice fly by Tyler Byrd to tie the game and send it to extra innings.
In the bottom of the eighth, after two singles by Clay Bradford and Payton Harden, a bunt right back to the pitcher resulted in outs at second and third, leaving a man at first with two out.
After that, an errant throw allowed runner Jordan Ginn to go from first to third.
Then, David Taylor singled up the middle to score Ginn and win the game for the Eagles.
The win by the Eagles puts 21-6A in a three way tie for first; Atascocita, Summer Creek and Kingwood are all tied for the lead.
KINGWOOD PARK
In 21-5A meanwhile, Kingwood Park broke a two game losing streak by defeating Porter on Saturday afternoon 8-4.
The Panthers are 4-2 in district play.

Atascocita goes to Baytown Sterling and hosts C.E. King, Humble is at Splendora and Dayton and K-Park hosts Porter and Crosby.
