Following a regular season which saw two area schools win a district title and one school go undefeated, the area teams will now prepare to compete in Texas high school football’s second season.

The Eagles completed an undefeated District 22-6A season with a 42-7 victory over Humble on Friday at Turner Stadium. Quarterback Brice Matthews threw for 282 yards, including touchdown passes of 62 and 34 yards to Dylan Robinson, who caught four passes for 133 yards.

The Kingwood Mustangs will look to get back to their winning ways as the postseason begins this week. Kingwood takes on Beaumont West Brook in a Region III-6A Division II bi-district playoff game at 7 p.m. Friday in Beaumont Memorial Stadium.

Kingwood High School varsity boys and girls cross country ran in the UIL Region III 6-A Championship meet Monday, Oct. 28 in Huntsville. The Mustangs competed in a 24-team field on a tough, dry course at Kate Barr Ross Memorial Park. The afternoon start made for sunny and slightly warm conditions.

Congratulations to Atascocita High School for the boys placing third at the Region 3 6-A Cross Country Championship. This enabled the boys to qualify for the state cross country meet in Round Rock.

The annual Golfers Against Cancer (GAC) Kingwood Dinner and Golf Tournaments are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 23 through Monday, Nov. 25 at The Clubs of Kingwood.
