She’s definitely not getting older – birthday girl Karyn Brenza celebrated till the wee hours of the morning with family and friends at the beautiful home of Jason and Chris Parker. Guests included Karyn’s husband David, daughter Cindy, son Dan; Nancy Dillard; Ted and Diana Price; Eileen Booher; Shari Llewellyn; Jay and Jacqueline Widman; Dr. Shan Biscette; Zach and Penny Landers, Joyce Krueger; Angel Spurgeon, and many more. Tony Raffa and Chef David Welch recently hosted a Malk Wine Dinner at Raffa’s, and winery owner Brian Malk came in from Napa Valley for the evening. Enjoying a fabulous dinner and several fine wines were Gary and Amanda Leonard; Larry and Connie Jones; Pete and Martha Serna; John and Jan Lopez; Kirk and Kathy Munden. Also at Raffa’s that week, a Silpada Jewelry Trunk Show benefitted Humble ISD Education Foundation. Jewelry Fashionistas in the crowd included Karen Perkins, Tracy Stunja, Cheryl (CJ) Johnson, Karen Boughton, and Carl and Colene Joiner who are the 2010 Gala Chairs for the Lonestar College Foundation. It was a beautiful night for the grand re-opening of Walden Country Club’s Overlook Lounge. Hosted by Dick and Janice Rumbley and Dan and Janet Huberty, around 100 guests came out to enjoy the entertainment, good food and beverages, and all the lovely renovations. Faces in the crowd included: Susan Brown; Scott and Erin Hare; Tom and Melba Eveler; Bill, Mary and Billy Barnett; Craig and Stacey Ward; Reuben Vela; Craig Covey; Allen and Yolanda Waters. This week’s featured event: Mothers Against Cancer 21st annual luncheon that will be held on Dec. 7 at Kingwood Country Club. This is an amazing organization that has raised more than $3 million for Texas Children’s Hospital and children’s cancer research. Beginning with a champagne reception, this luncheon is always a winner, a “who’s who” of guests, great food, fantastic auction and raffle items, and a packed house. A special treat this year is a performance by the Salvation Army Harbor Lights Choir. The luncheon theme is “Circle of Hope” and the honoree is Grant McTaggart, – the program will touch your heart! Governor. A fun evening – and you will smell good too! Dillard’s at Deerbrook Mall is hosting a special Scentsational evening, Thursday, Nov. 12, from 5-9 p.m. in the Cosmetics area. There will be makeovers, door prizes and other surprises. Diane Blanco will officially launch her new blog, LipstickDigest.com at the event. The Clubs of Kingwood will celebrate the one-year anniversary of their Fitness and Sports Center on Thursday, Nov. 12, from 5 – 8 p.m. Members and their guests are invited to come enjoy wine, beer, hors d’oeuvres and learn about the new “Culinary Arts” Club and the “Friends of the Vine” Wine Club.
