At the first hint of fall in the air, it’s time to dine on the patio at Zammitti’s in King’s Harbor! Derold and Dianne will be traveling to Germany and running in the Berlin Marathon. Raffa’s “Burger Buffet” continues to hit a homerun each month as patrons pack the restaurant for a delicious burger, and to be entertained by the smooth sounds of the very personable singer David Pipkin. The Lake Houston Shores Republican Women’s Club meeting is Thursday, Sept. 17 at a new location, Walden Country Club, beginning at 6:45. The featured speaker is Dr. Martin Basaldua, who is a candidate for Texas State Representative District 127. The meeting is open to all interested persons. Kingwood native Christi Harper will debut her first CD titled “Hear” at Second Baptist Church, Kingwood on Friday, Sept. 18 at 8 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public. The 12-song CD includes two anthems co-written by Harper: “Breathtaking” and “Hear in the Waiting.” Tim McDermott, 89.3 KSBJ general manager and host of the radio show “Enter His Gates,” will be the event’s master of ceremonies. Christi is a Nashville-based Christian singer, songwriter, speaker and founder of Hear in the Waiting Ministries. Her CD and merchandise will be available for purchase. Twice rained out in August, everyone is ready for a free, fun, family night of food, music, and getting together under the stars! This month’s concert will feature the sounds of Motown, the Supremes, and disco, performed by the exciting band, Karizma. The focus of this month’s concert is Including Kids, a local agency that provides programs for children with autism and related disorders. This will be an opportunity to purchase tickets for the upcoming “Viva Las Vegas” gala on Oct. 24, sponsored by Keller Williams Realty Northeast. All the great Harbor restaurants will offer food to go. Bring your coolers, lawn chairs, picnic blankets, and have fun! The Humble Area Chamber of Commerce will host their first ever Chamber Picnic at H&H Ranch, Saturday, Sept. 26, from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. This will be a fun, family event with everything from brisket to hot dogs and popcorn; a hayride, paddle boats, kiddie area, every kind of ball game you could ever want to play, and much more! Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for ages 3 - 18; children under 2 are free.
