The Lake Houston Family YMCA recently held their annual Golfer’s Challenge Golf Tournament at Kingwood Country Club.  Despite the 95+ heat, the players enjoyed a morning of golfing for a good cause and participating in two new fun contests to assist their game. Through the amazing commitment of Larry and Connie Jones and all of you who support the Zach Jones Memorial Foundation, the Texas State Health Department is sponsoring an awareness program for children to learn about the dangers of rabid animals and rabies. There is an information site, along with a poster contest for students in grades K – 8. The contest deadline is Sept. 30. A new addition to the preview party is a silent auction. Package A has The Conservatory Day Spa teamed up with the Veranda Restaurant for a day of spa for the ladies and golf at Oakhurst for the guys, followed by a sumptuous four course dinner and cooking class for all eight people.
