Out and about...

Welcome back to Out and About … where you can find out what’s happening in our community! Vocalist Sharon Montgomery and accompanist Charlene Wright really wowed Amedeo’s Jazz Night crowd with their heartfelt renditions of jazz, oldies and cabaret music! It’s always a party when hosts Tony Raffa and Beth Duncan are working the room, welcoming guests, and making sure that everything is just right. Enjoying a great evening: Will and Kim Fuller; Leonard and Kari Schneider; Owen and Mary Ruth Jones; Nick and Betsy Woutas; Ed and Peggy Glazier; Ted and Diana Price; Ron and Debbie Becker; Judi Anderson; Howard Pitman; Cheryl Young. The Nathaniel Center was the recent scene of a Cherri Ledoux tasting that still has people raving about the food! As only she can do it, Cherri roasted a pig, served sliders, (small hamburgers); beautifully presented cheeses, fruits and crackers, and many other fabulous finger foods. And the desserts! (Think cheesecake that melts in your mouth.) Jill Vidal of Elegant Beginnings provided the table linens to complete the perfect picture. You really had to be there, as were: Sparky Nolan; John Darst; Christine Price; Tracy Stunja; Lynn Fields; Judy Luquette; Danny and Geralyn Sullivan; Bryan and Suzanne Monk, and many more. There was quite a flurry of graduation parties over the last several days; maybe you are still celebrating! One of those we visited was at the beautiful home of Kurt and Debbie Huseman, honoring their daughter Missy, Stacy McGeough (parents Don and Cheryl); Lauren Enyart (parents Bill and Lynn); Shannon MacNaughton (parents Dale and Pam). Over 70 seniors from the Class of 2008 were there to celebrate, as well as many proud parents, grandparents, families, and friends, including: Greg and Marie Halvatzis; Drew and Sherry Verrett; Kipling Rugg; Chuck and Connie Rountree; Bob and Barbara Eversole; Carl and Susie Denney; David and Sally Miller; Mike and Alice Cullen; Mark and Debbie Ward; Pam Keister; Mike McClernon; Tom Stegner; Ed and Allison LaCour; Tracy Monk; Steve and Grace Rath; Janice and Melissa Fox; Sheila Levrant (who came from Florida to be here for granddaughter Missy). Also in the crowd, still celebrating daughter Megan’s recent graduation from LSU (did I hear “Geaux” Tigers?) were Randy and Carol Sutton. Congratulations to these and all our 2008 grads and their families! The Humble ISD Foundation celebrated a successful year of innovative funding with a record breaking $1,053,175 in grants to HISD for the 2007-2008 school year! Joe and Tracy Stunja hosted the celebration in their lovely home. Kudos to Corinn Price for her tireless leadership, and her hard working team, for their outstanding commitment on behalf of our students and teachers! Featured in this month’s Texas Children’s Hospital Magazine: RE/MAX Associates Northeast recently presented a gift of $30,000 to Texas Children’s Hospital! The funds were raised through the office’s third annual Novemberfest for Children’s Miracle Network, a community celebration complete with DJ, two-steppin’ cowboys and cowgirls, and a traditional Texas-style barbeque dinner. (Cowboy) Hats off to Joe and Tracy Stunja, Ed and Sara Nowak, and all the caring folks at RE/MAX! Tasha Luce recently celebrated her birthday at On the Border in Atascocita. Helping to blow out the candles (and enjoying great food and conversation!) were friends: Paige Gary; Rachael Waite; India Loth; Diana Harpring; Melissa Heaton; Laura LeBlanc; Beth Lane; Janet Huberty. Mike and Sindi Sonnier hosted a pre-construction party at the site of their newly purchased home on Lake Houston. Mike thought it would be fun to take guests on a boat ride. It was fun, till the boat broke down, and he couldn’t get back to his own party. Thanks to a thoughtful neighbor (who must have known about the great food and wine at the party!), everyone returned safely. Faces in the crowd: Richard and Lanie Brown; Robert Scarfo; Dennis and Janice Young; Scott and Mel Cheairs; Peter and Connie Lofgren; David Brewer. Enjoying dinner at Chimichurri’s in Kings Harbor: Buck and Kathy Fechik; Dan and Janet Huberty; Stephen and Trish King; Mark and Kate Boughton; Doug and Cindy Vanslambrouck. It’s one of our favorites too! Kingwood Country Club was the scene of a recent wine tasting hosted by Trinchero Winery. Faces in the crowd: David and Leigh Marcus Kelley; Ed and Sara Nowak; Dave and Bonnie Kluborg; Jerry and Diana Hertzenberg; Corina Robertson; Christopher and Jill Bagley Curran who won the door prize, a Jeroboam of Trinchero Cabernet Sauvignon.
