- Five silver-ticket winners will get to audition for ‘American Idol’ producers -
Main Event is hosting “Houston Idol” auditions Wednesday, Aug. 28, at its Humble center located at 20945 Spring Creek Crossing. Five winners will receive a silver ticket entitling the contestant to a one-on-one audition with “American Idol” executive producers, along with airfare and accommodations at a to-be-determined destination.
The first 500 people in line are guaranteed a wristband (no purchase necessary; wristband distribution is from 8-10 a.m., ages 15-28 only), giving them access to the first round of auditions. There will be three rounds of auditions, with the first starting at 9 a.m., and lasting until 9 p.m. There will undoubtedly be a long line of talented contestants.
The top 15 contestants will be invited back to Main Event to perform in the Houston Idol Showcase at 7 p.m. for their chance to win one of the five silver tickets. The following celebrity judges will be arriving at 6:30 p.m. for the showcase: American Idol Season 2 Top 10 Finalist Uché; Houston’s New Country The Bull/Morning Bull host George; ABC13’s morning anchor Samica Knight; and Emcee Chaz Miller from ABC13.
