FLAGS ACROSS KINGWOOD

The Kingwood Rotary Club sponsors the Flags Across Kingwood fundraiser. For $50, the club will place American flags at Kingwood, Oakhurst and Atascocita homes or businesses in time for Thursday, July 4. INDEPENDENCE DAY EXTRAVAGANZA

The Clubs of Kingwood is hosting an event at 1700 Lake Kingwood Trail, Kingwood, Wednesday, July 3 from 5:30-9 p.m. There will be chipping and putting contests, bounce houses, face painting, balloons and other fun activities. Enjoy live music by Brandon Smith and the Godfellas, after which there will be a fireworks show. The cost of admission is $10 for all. If interested in the Chef’s BBQ dinner in the Lakeview Ballroom, the cost is $20 for members, $30 for nonmember, $10 per child members 5-12, and $15 per child nonmembers; 4 and under free. KINGWOOD FISHING RODEO

The Kingwood Fishing rodeo is Thursday, July 4 from 6-7:30 a.m. at the corner of Kingwood Drive and Forest Garden at Foster’s Mill Pond. Children 15 and younger are invited to bring fishing gear and poles. Trophies will be awarded. No registration is required. More information can be found at kingwoodcivicclub.org.

 

KINGWOOD BIKE RODEO

The Kingwood Bike Rodeo will begin at 9 a.m., Thursday, July 4, in the parking lot of the Kingwood Bible Church on the corner of Oak Forest and W. Lake Houston Pkwy., across from Creekwood Middle School. Kids are invited to bring their decorated bikes to compete for trophies and then participate in the parade afterward. KINGWOOD PARADE

The Kingwood 4th of July Parade will be held Thursday, July 4. Lineup for the parade begins at the corner of Rivers Edge and Sandy Forks Drive (Enter on Feather Lakes Way) at 7 a.m. Once this street is filled, lineup will continue on Haven Brook and Sandy Forks Drive (Enter on Rustic Woods). Float judging will begin at 9 a.m. and the parade will kick off at 10 a.m. from Creekwood Middle School on Sandy Forks. The parade will end when all participants reach Kingwood High School. ACIA FOURTH OF JULY COMMUNITY PARADE EVENT

The Atascocita Community Improvement Associations’s parade will take place on July 4. Registration for the event will be located at 8810 Pine Shores Drive, Humble and will start at 8:30 a.m. The parade will begin at 9 a.m. and will be followed shortly thereafter by swimming, snow cones and snacks at 10 a.m. at Shores Park.

 

JULY 4TH FESTIVAL

Kingwood Town Center, 8 N. Main St., Kingwood, will celebrate Independence Day, Thursday, July 4, from 2-9 p.m. Mark Linabury will host live music, craft and food booths, and a Kids Zone. Enjoy old country songs with “Honky Tonk Revivalists” starting at 3 p.m. At 6 p.m., “That 70’s Thing” will entertain with a fun-filled performance of fabulous sounds from the ‘70s with a big band influence. The festivities will conclude with an amazing fireworks display. KINGS HARBOR CONCERT AND FIREWORKS

Celebrate Independence Day with the family at Kings Harbor Thursday, July 4. Enjoy a concert by the Dennis David Band beginning at 7 p.m. and a fireworks spectacular off of the pier at 9:30 p.m. (weather permitting). Grab blankets and lawn chairs for this fun event. Park in the garage on the day of the event as surface parking will be unavailable and carpooling and ride sharing, such as Uber, is highly encouraged.

 

KINGWOOD TREASURE HUNT

The Fourth Annual Kingwood Treasure Hunt will be held Thursday, July 4. Four simultaneous treasure hunts will take place; one in the Town Center area, one in the Kingwood Park High School area and two treasure hunts at undisclosed locations. Clues to the locations of the treasures will be posted on kingwood.com as well as kingwoodunderground.com at 12 p.m. July 4. All treasures will be located off the ground and in a white envelope. STARS AND STRIPES ACROSS ATASCOCITA

Boy Scout Troop 56, chartered by Atascocita United Methodist Church, is supporting the Stars and Stripes Across Atascocita program in the Pines, Shores, Pinehurst, Oaks and Kings River subdivisions to display a flag in yards on Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day and Labor Day each year. Cost is $30 per year for four flags. Scouts will place a flag in the front yard the morning of each holiday and remove it in the evening. The troop’s goal is to display 1,000 flags per holiday. VALLEY RANCH 4TH FEST

Mark your calendar for Thursday, July 4 from 2-10 p.m. for the 2019 Valley Ranch 4th Fest, located at Valley Ranch Town Center in the future amphitheater site. Enjoy a day full of Texas Country concerts, food trucks, drinks and plenty of activities for the entire family to enjoy. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to celebrate America’s Independence with a fireworks show. Three-time Grammy-nominated country star Pat Green is headliner for Thursday night’s concert and will take the stage on the evening of Independence Day prior to the fireworks show. JB and the Moonshine Band, Max Stalling and Jody Booth will take the stage prior to Green’s performance. Located at Valley Ranch Town Center, 11985 N. Grand Parkway E., New Caney. CROSBY CHURCH JULY 4 CELEBRATION

Bring your lawn chairs and join Crosby Church at the Crosby Campus, 5725 Hwy. 90 for a night of family fun on Thursday, July 4. The celebration starts at 6 p.m. There will be concessions, inflatables, music and fireworks. For more information, call 281-328-1310 or visit crosbychurch.com.

 

5TH OF JULY FIREWORKS EVENT

A free fireworks show hosted by Skero’s Furniture will be held Friday, July 5, at The Overlook, 20114 Pinehurst Dr., Atascocita. Grounds will open at 6 p.m. for lawn seating; live country music will be presented from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Daron Skero will deliver welcoming remarks at 8:30 p.m. and fireworks will begin at dusk. Free food and water will be provided. No coolers or alcohol will be allowed on the grounds.
