Earlier this year, the community endured a once-in-a-lifetime event. The recovery is far from complete. It is time to join forces to rebuild this great community. Insperity, HAAM, the Tribune Newspapers and the Lake Houston Area Chamber of Commerce have joined together to create the Lake Houston Area Relief Fund, which will host the “Holiday Ho-Ho-Ho-Down” and the “Ho-Ho-Hole-in-One” golf tournament as a fundraiser.
All proceeds will be matched by Insperity, helping to increase the funds for victims who have been affected. They are looking for sponsors, teams and donations. Sponsorships: Hole Sign Sponsor $100 (hole sign provided) and Hole Sponsor with Tent $200 (bring your own 10x10 tent and banner). Donations can be in any form, such as auction items, gift cards or cash donations. All donations made to this fund through HAAM will be matched dollar for dollar up to $1 million. The event will begin Dec. 6 with a “Holiday Ho-Ho-Ho-Down” with dinner, dancing, cash bar and silent auction. The festivities will be held at The Overlook from 5-9 p.m. “Texas Holiday Attire;” $50 per person and $75 per couple for dinner event only. The “Ho-Ho-Hole-in-One” Golf Tournament will be Dec. 7 at the The Atascocita Golf Club. The Four-Man-Team Scramble will shotgun start at 1 p.m. and registration begins at noon. HAAM Toy Drive will be there so bring a new unwrapped toy to either event.
The tournament features Screwdrivers and Bloody Marys at two holes, a Four-Man-Team Scramble, pop-up shops with holiday gift-wrapping on site, barbecue dinner and a raffle. Cost to enter is $500 per foursome and $125 per individual player. Each golfer receives two tickets for the “Holiday Ho, Ho, Ho-Down.” Register online at EventBrite.com and search for “The Overlook.”
