Tucked away in Town Center is one of Kingwood’s rare gems and only art gallery – Watson Huff Galleries. Watson Huff is a true treasure and Saturday, Dec. 15, from noon to 5 p.m., they are holding their 1st Annual Holiday Arts Market and one year anniversary celebration. Since opening their doors only one year ago, Watson Huff has sold 235 pieces by local artists. They are excited to host their first Art Market and hope to make Art in the Park a monthly event. “The Arts Market is a fun, outdoor holiday event for the whole family to enjoy,” said Melissa Watson, co-owner of Watson Huff Galleries. Forty local artists will be on site during the Arts Market. Paintings, photography, sculptures, metal art, jewelry, crafts and more will be on display for sale. This event allows the community to interact with local artists who will be able to sell their exhibited art in an arena where the artists make 100 percent of all sales. “It’s all affordable art created by local artists,” stated Watson. “And while we plan to showcase all sorts of art, this will also give our jewelry artists more room to display their art, so you can expect a variety of unique jewelry pieces at the market that you won’t typically see in the gallery,” said Watson. From 2-5 p.m., The Robin Kirby Band will provide live music for all to enjoy. Face painting and a bouncy house will be provided for the kids, and Kona Ice of Kingwood and Bavarian Nuts by Kathy Wells will also be on hand. “Our biggest goal is getting people to come out to the market and to the gallery. We rotate art and artists so there is always something new to see. We also encourage teens and kids of all ages to come and see the gallery. It’s a fun activity for those looking for something to do around town. There’s no need to go all the way to Houston to see art,” said Watson. In celebration of their one year anniversary, after the Art Market from 5-9 p.m., there will also be 30 additional artists located inside the Watson Huff Galleries where a reception with free wine and beer will be served. For those interested, vendor booths are still available. Purchase a 10 x 10 for $50 or a 10 x 20 for $75. Artists can share a space but are responsible for having their own tent, tables and set up. Set up time is 9:30-11 a.m. To sign up, contact Melissa Watson at 585-737-9524 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
