A great troupe of artists attended the Paint and Sip event where brushes, booze (wine) and boards (charcuterie) were on the menu. A few of the painters include Brandy Burnett, Cyndi DuBois, Mary Kay Ermel, Deborah Jacobs, Dottie Keith, Christine Kinkead, Jim McCrary and Alex Mentakis who brought the family! The after party moved on to the Tavern. A fun night for sure.

Celebrating their 50th Anniversary with family and friends, Stan and Cynthia Nix enjoyed a wonderful evening at The Atrium along with their six children, six grandchildren, extended family, friends and church members. Cynthia wore a black and silver long dress. Carolyn LaFargue, Anita Frasier, Ron Holley, Paula Williams, Mary Snow and Danell Fields attended as well. Also in the crowd were Billie Breland-Smith in black and gold, Joyce Chambers in a blingy little black cocktail dress, Barbara Hutchinson, Lois Atteberry, Faye Beeland, Beverly Eriks and Gloria Green-Dorman.

Ladies, there’s a new association in town — well, a new executive business women’s group which had its inaugural event at the Clubs of Kingwood. Thanks to Christa McCourt for founding this group and excited about being invited along with some amazing women. Connie and Elisabeth Chandler of Minuteman Press of Humble were sponsors. LaGala Doran, Janet Sisler, Jennifer Carney, Derise Plant and Shannon Carr attended, in addition to Elizabeth Perry, Rosary Goodrum, Ashley Rodriguez, Claire Fishman, Carol Samei, Miranda Desson, Leigh Alexander and Savannah Cavazos. Kingwood Business Women is focused on highlighting and connecting business women in Kingwood and the surrounding areas. For information about the organization go to kingwoodbusinesswomen.org.

Did anyone else see the remarkable rock on Diane Blanco’s hand and her perpetual smile? Rumor has it that she and Mark Norton will be married this summer. Don’t believe that love can come along when you are least expecting it … think again. I’ll be checking my mailbox for the invitation!

Mad Hatters was another triumph benefiting Mothers Against Cancer. Over 200 ladies (and a few gentlemen) came from far and wide with bonnets, bows, boaters and bowlers, some decorated — most in theme. It was a festive event, including the ever-popular fashion show. Congratulations to Annette Wood, the founder of the amazing annual extravaganza. I loved the flocked ladies — Diana Van Horn, Tammy Holecamp and Nancy Foisner. There were so many creative teams, specifically the Salata Sisters. Patricia Basely won most outrageous, Texas Wildflowers won best group, and best ensemble went to Gail Ireland wearing black trousers a white blouse and a fabulous fascinator. Of course, there were so many chic chapeaus it would be difficult to list them all. Some of the mad hatters were Audra Blakely, Daniela Sumbera, Laryssa Korduba, Natalie Snyder, Kelly Sloan, Shera Williams, Karen Babb, Kendall Robnett, Karen Baker, Paula Beck, Brenda Benigno, Lindsay Grady, Ginger Bertrand, Katie Boone, Evelyn Brennan, Marcia Brown, Twila Carter, Maureen Casey, Jackie Cate, Rebecca Champs, Gwen Ashley, Billie Anderson, Sorcha Claasans, Joan Clinton, Shirley Colona, Paulette Coons, Anne Coughlin, Elaine Craven, Ellie Csengery, Stacey Csengery, Tracey Davie, Donna Dean, Kim Dempster, Beth Dolan, Joy Dominque, Burl Dowden, Linda Durant, Kelley Earle, Janice Fox, Francesca Franks, Bobbie Glascock, Nicole Goldman, Katie Gorski, Lindsey Grady, Diane Grimm, Rachel Harlin, Rhonda Herbez, Beth Higgins, Joan Imperato, Connie Jaeger, Michelle Johnson, Nan Johnston, Carol Kollehner, Michele Kolster, Sue Korthauer, Kathy Kyrish, Laura Lehrer, Anki Lerner, Shelby Lewis, Mark Linabury, Ashley Lyle, Donna Mann, Linda Prator, Eileen Booher, Tracie Mieth, Kelly Paull, Connie Chandler, Kay Manning, Ava Morrison, Barbara Manning, Leigh Marcus, Debbie McCarter, Claudette McKee and Shannon McKinley. Donna Wiener was stunning in black and white. Onnie Sherrer beautiful in blue accompanied by her mother in black! My personal favorite however was Beth Higgins bee-utiful in a bee hive hat (including bees) and a black and gold dress.

This has been a busy couple of weeks — I so enjoy seeing you all “out and about.”
