For all the fairer sex members of the Clubs of Kingwood who have never been permitted in the infamous Tin Cup Locker Room — thanks to Kelly Paull and Patrick Pettit, we were invited by invitation (and donation) to attend a brief event filled with games and wine! Gaby Flory, Emily Stander, Tracie Mieth and Sydney Ware (soon to be Mrs. Tyler Kief) enjoyed it so much.
Sydney Ware and Tyler Kief exchanged vows outdoors at the Deerwood Club. There were at least 150 in attendance, including the parents of Sydney — Katie and Kurtz Stowers, and Tyler’s parents, Werner and Jimmie Kief. The bride wore a fitted white dress embellished with a maroon ribbon at the waist and buttons down the back with a flowing train. The bridesmaids were dressed in formal maroon dresses and groomsmen wore navy blue. Did I mention that the bride and groom are graduates of Texas A&M? Spotted in the crowd of well-wishers were Jimmy and Vicki Kilshaw, Bruce and Anne Quick, Darryal and Connie Chandler, Neal and Anne Hastings, Randy and Barb Maffett just to name a few. Sydney’s brother, Pierce Ware, from Montana and grandparents Nick and Judy Sager, from Granberry, Texas, were part of the festivities. The groom’s brother and best man, Philip Kief, his wife, Stephanie, and their two children were all part of the wedding party. The food, prepared by Chef Cathy, was scrumptious. Toasts were made and singing and dancing were part of the merriment. Oh, what a lovely event it was!
Wayne Garrison celebrated his birthday at Deerwood Club while playing blackjack and wagering. The birthday boy was endowed with several bottles of his favorite spirits and lots of love. Lovely Michelle Sorrentino looked amazing in maroon and her dapper darling was all “Sinatra fedora.” Nancy Sawyer wore black lace in tribute of the birthday! Others spotted were Eileen Booher who looked lovely in purple, Linda and David Prator, Devon and Chad Alexander, and “Mollie” Garrison. Darryal and Connie Chandler turned out to wish the birthday boy many happy returns — and try their luck at craps, roulette and cards!

Cherrie LeDoux of a Grand Affair supplied the scrumptious snacks and Jennifer Bohner made sure that our glasses runneth over with wine.
The Y’s Dancing for a Cause was a “chill event” to say the least. The décor was fabulous and the dancers brought their A games for sure. The guests might have enjoyed a heater or 12, but we survived. Bocca was responsible for the food and the wine was graciously donated by Randy and Carol Sutton! Both Bibo and Bocca were welcome retreats from the frigid gusts. All of the acts were top notch but Pam McNair of Mint Bank won the evening! So many good sports like Tracie and Riley Mieth, Emily and Nicolas Stander, Karen Martin, Millie Garrison, Kelly Paull, Brad Gerke, Darren and Hollie Desimone, Heather and Ryan VanHooser, Amica Ghebramain, Jenna Armstrong and her lovely daughter Drew, Faren Rodrigues, Jennifer Forrest, Scott and Tracy Brady, Nancy Shortsleeve, Diane Heinricks, Cheryl Sowell, Casey Christman and the marvelous Jessica Beemer (JBeam) who emceed the entire event. Many guests ended the night at the bar to thaw out and discuss the evening’s shenanigans.
