On June 30, Partnership Lake Houston had the first in-person event in 16 months. Over 100 members and guests attended. It was like we hadn’t seen each other in years, shaking hands and sharing hugs! State Rep. Dan Huberty, always the best dressed man in the room, gave an update on the 2021 session of the House of Representatives. He was joined by his lovely wife, Janet, dressed in a spring floral outfit. Jenna Armstrong, CEO of the Partnership, was emcee. She bid farewell to Mark Mitchell and thanked him for his tenure on the Economic Development Partnership. James Alexander, dapper as ever, was joined by co-workers Chris Coangelo, Will Brooks and Derise Plant. Newly elected Humble Mayor Norman Funderburk brought City Manager Jason Stuebe, Councilman Charles Cunningham, Civic Center Director Jennifer Wooden and other city employees. Several elected officials were present including Houston Mayor Pro Tem Dave Martin, Judge Lincoln Goodwin, and Humble ISD Trustees Martina Dixon and Robert Scarfo. Spotted in the crowd were Kaaren Cambio in a bright pink dress, Emily Stander wearing off-white, Casey Christman in a leopard print skirt, and Toni Taylor Harris in dazzling navy and gold. Others in attendance were Mark Micheletti, Kim Brode, Tim Baker, Danny Sullivan, Patrick Pettit, Danny Sawyer, Deborah Rose Miller, and Tom Broad just to name a few!

Ron and Erin Holley hosted a fundraising event for her mother, State Rep. Valoree Swanson, Tuesday, June 29. The impromptu gathering welcomed over 150 guests. The honorary host committee consisted of Senators Paul Bettencourt and Brandon Creighton, State Representatives: Cecil Bell, Jr., Briscoe Cain, Sam Harless, Dan Huberty, Matt Krause, Mayes Middleton, Jim Murphy, Dennis Paul, Matt Schaefer, Mike Schofield, Matt Shaheen, Steve Roth, Cody Vasut, Commissioner Jack Cagle, Carmen and Jim Crenshaw, Chris Parker, Jim and Robin Lennon, J.L. “Joe” Trahan, Kathaleen Wall and Holly Frost. The event host committee included Jennifer and Christopher Beasley, Carson Bonner, Kasta Carson, Danell Fields, Deborah and Ralph Fite, Jason Muriby, Matt Brice, Dr. Elias Jackson, Alexie Swirsky, Jason Rowe, Jacob Jack Way, Gwendolyn and Dave Crawford, Kelly Paull and David Welch. The patriotic event was held poolside at the Holley home where David Welch served his famous BBQ and flaming bananas Foster. Lisa Drout’s beautiful rendition of the “Anthem” made us all proud to be American. In attendance were newlyweds Louis and Gaby Flory who, by the way, were given a Texas flag and certificate commemorating their recent wedding. Other attendees included Pam McIver, Sarah and John Wakefield, Chris and Jason Parker, Jessica Colon, Kiki Dugie, Seth Alford, Danell Fields, Kelly Paull, Lyndsi Cleveland, Eileen Booher, and Tracy and Travis Gonzales.

The GEM Chamber had its first “live” luncheon June 2 in Randall Reed Stadium’s community room. The speaker was charming Twila Carter, executive director of the Houston Astros Foundation. A few of those in attendance were Sheila Hebert, Bill Hildebrandt, Jim Carranza, Jeanna Bumpas, Jason Tracy, Sherry and Fred Wetz, Bobbi Bodenhamer, Cheri Huber, Myra Bruns, Tyler Jones, Terra Hallmark and Janet Sisler.

The always adorable Tracie Mieth hosted a 5th anniversary celebration for her successful spa, Planet Beach. Tracie, gorgeous in red, entertained Candace Terraza, Emily and Nicholas Stander, De Medford, Amanda Rossen, Dominique Cousin, Riley Mieth, Geralyn, Michael and Danny Sullivan. Misty Giannovola and Brianna Oliver also attended with local celebrity realtor and host of Localmea’s “Dropping in with Danell,” Danell Fields, who, by the way, looked incredible in blue zebra. Hunky Mark Linabury, Kelly and Rick Paull, Kerry Baker, Lyndsi Cleveland all stopped in to help Tracie celebrate.
