As the sun makes the occasional appearance in Texas this month, there have already been getaways — Erica, Duane Johnston and family had an adventurous trip to Big Bend, Kelly and Rick Paull went on a third honeymoon to Key West and Connie and Darryal Chandler spent time with dear friends Robyn and Ron Choiniere in Orange Beach. Janice and Rick Fox took their grandbabies to Disney World while Gwendolyn and Dave Crawford escaped to their Colorado condo. Speaking of Erica Johnston, kudos on graduating from Leadership Houston Class 39 – one more thing to add to her vast list of accomplishments!

The Clubs of Kingwood hosted another grand dueling piano extravaganza. Over 200 attended including Karen and Tom Moran, DeAnn and Bill Essay, LaDonna and Patrick Pettit, Kelly and Rick Paull, Rob and Nancy Sawyer, Shannon Wacker in an adorable white dress accompanied by beau Brandon Tidwell, John and Terra glamorous in black and white with a Hallmark, Kakie Palmer, Lorena Haylow, Chris and Jason Parker, April looking lovely in a sexy LBD with hunky hubby Matt Mayo, Linda and David Prator, Cheryl and Tony Austin. Dr. Bob and Karen Cassidy sat with Bill and Tina Bivins. Patrick and Nicole Keenan and their posse had front row seats. Guest Kevin Weatherford endured some good-natured ribbing from the master of ceremonies. Joe Schultz and consummate lady’s man, David Harper accompanied several club beauties comprising Alice Pope, Rachel Harlin and Sandy Lockett. Connie Chandler modeled the gorgeous silver, emerald and diamond bracelet she received from her dapper darling, Darryal, on the occasion of her birthday. Also in attendance were Devon and Chad Alexander, and Eileen Booher. I understand that Emily Stander, chair of Humble Area Assistance Ministries Pillars of the Community event, has leaked that this year’s fundraiser will feature an encore of dueling pianos. Consider sponsoring or attending this fun event and support an amazing community organization. haamministries.org/pillars-of-the-community
