Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers responded to a two-vehicle fatality crash on the IH-45 Service Road at Cathedral Lakes. The preliminary crash investigation indicates that on Jan. 2, at approximately 12:35 p.m., a 2020 Harley-Davidson traveling north on the IH-45 Service Road at a high rate of speed came down the inside lane of the feeder. The driver of the motorcycle, who was not wearing a helmet, attempted to stop but after sliding almost 100 feet laid the bike down and slid under a Ford pickup truck pulling an auto-transport trailer that was turning right off the feeder onto Cathedral Lakes.
South Montgomery County Fire responded to the scene but the driver of the motorcycle was already deceased. The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office Vehicular Crimes unit responded to the scene to assist DPS. No charges are expected. Eickenhorst Funeral Directors transported the victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy.
The rider of the Harley-Davidson, 31-year-old Alger Alberto Falcon Medellin of Kingwood, was pronounced deceased on the scene. The driver of the Ford, 47-year-old Yoiler Sierra Ferrales of Houston, was not injured. The passenger of the Ford, 44-year-old Geobanis Garcia Rodriquez of Houston was not injured. This is an ongoing investigation and there is no additional information available for release at this time.
