On August 19, 2018 a deputy with Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman's Office located a vehicle that he recognized as being stolen earlier the same day. The deputy initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle, however the driver refused to stop and fled. After a short pursuit the suspect exited the vehicle and continued evading on foot. Constable Deputies located the suspect hiding in the bushes a short distance away. The suspect was identified as James Akoma, and the investigation revealed that Akoma had stolen the vehicle from a pizza delivery person earlier in the day.
“James Akoma” was arrested and booked into the Harris County jail, charged with Evading in a Motor Vehicle and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. He received a total bond amount of $6,000.00 out of the 208th District Court.” –Constable Mark Herman
