Two individuals are now in custody for allegedly pulling copper off of an air conditioning unit in the 18450 block of W. Lake Houston Parkway on Wednesday, Feb. 13. “We received a call at about 10:30 p.m. informing our station of a possible burglary in progress,” said Lt. W. Wieghat of Precinct 4 Constable’s office. “When our deputies arrived they witnessed two white males pulling the copper out of the air conditioner located behind the vacant office building.” When the suspects saw the deputies, they began running away from the scene in opposite directions. Deputy W. Rose and Deputy C. Lawrence ran after the two but were only able to catch one. The man caught was later identified as 40-year-old Dusty Terry. In front of the building was a vehicle parked with a woman inside believed to be a part of the burglary. “We ran her identification and found she had three open warrants out for her arrest,” said Wieghat. “We believe she was the lookout while the two other suspects were getting the copper.” Lynn Ferguson, 50, and Terry were arrested for criminal mischief. There is now a warrant out for the arrest of Rusty Terry, the other suspect in the case. The two men were believed to have caused thousands of dollars in damage to the appliances.
