Police arrest nurse at Porter nursing home

The Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable's Office arrested a 33-year-old nurse at a well-known Porter nursing home Thursday on several felony drug- and non-related warrants. A deputy took the nurse, Amber Leigh Fox, into custody at her place of employment, Pine Shadow Retreat Nursing Home. Police were tipped off that she was on-duty at the nursing home. Fox, of Porter, was indicted on four counts of fraudulent possession of a controlled prescription substance and one count of engaging in organized crime. She also had two outstanding Precinct 4 warrants for displaying a fictitious license plate and failure to appear in court. Precinct 4 Constable Kenneth “Rowdy” Hayden was unsettled on many levels about the situation. “It’s disturbing to find someone who has been indicted on five felony drug charges is a nurse, but it’s worse to learn she’s employed at a nursing home,” Hayden said. “And this was not even the first time we’ve arrested Ms. Fox.” Fox was booked into Montgomery County Jail on $75,000 bond.
