Pattie Evelyn (Cross) Harper, born June 20, 1927, passed peacefully into God's care in the early morning hours of Saturday, December 22, 2007. Born in Houston, Texas, she was a resident of the Humble/New Caney area for over 30 years. She attended St. Agnes Academy, and was a 1944 San Jacinto High School graduate. She attended Texas State College for Women "NKA" Texas Womens University and the University of Houston before marrying Air Force captain and navigator Jack Harper. She was predeceased by parents J.C. Cross and Mary Elizabeth Johnston; stepfather F. Allen Johnston; husbands Lt. Col. Jack Harper and James W. McClellan Jr.; stepsons Jack Harper, Jr., John L. Harper; and daughter Kolleen Krueger. She is survived by her remaining children, Kim Randall, Kristi Wenzel, Kelli Hill and Kyle Harper; stepsons Gary Harper and Phillip and Richard McClellan; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Friends and family gathered on Sunday, December 30, at McClellan's Pub, 2107 N. Houston Avenue (at Townsen Blvd), in Humble, Texas, to celebrate her life. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association in lieu of flowers.
