The Kingwood High School Marching Band hosted a preview show prior to Hurricane Harvey. Despite extensive loss and water damage, KM4B will march at KHS football games and UIL competitions this fall.

KM4B will not let Harvey stop the music, but community support still greatly needed

The Kingwood High School Mighty Mustang Military Marching Band (KM4B) is postponing its fifth annual Band on the Run 5K/10K fundraiser. The fun run, originally scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 23, is being rescheduled for the spring. The exact date will be announced at a later time.

“Hurricane Harvey has devastated the homes and lives of many band families, destroyed $25,000 plus of music instruments and rendered KHS unusable for the 2017-2018 school year,” said Kim Hammond, band publicity chair. “Band families and volunteers know that our help and energy are needed elsewhere in the community at this time. Our focus is on the needs of our children, families, friends and neighbors.”

Anyone wishing to donate can still do so online at TheDriven.net/BandontheRun. All donations go to Kingwood Band Boosters, a registered 501(c)(3) charity that directly supports the KHS marching band. Checks may also be made out and mailed to Kingwood Band Boosters, P.O. Box 5381, Kingwood, TX 77325.
