Humble ISD will be OPEN on Monday, Sept. 23, 2019. Schools will not have to make up days to cover the closure on Sept. 19-20. A minor schedule adjustment will be required only at the high school level to meet state requirements regarding the number of minutes that school is in session annually.

Jamie Mount, director of Public Communications for Humble ISD, said, "Regarding Kingwood High School - most of the campus is fine. Rainwater seeped into some of the athletic areas. The fine arts facilities and academic wings were not impacted. Crews worked overnight Thursday to clean up the water and the district is assessing what repairs are needed. Classes are on course to be held when Humble ISD reopens. We are looking forward to the implementation of the plan we have with FEMA to help prevent flooding." She noted, with regard to all other Humble ISD campuses, that, "Every building is being checked today so that schools are ready to welcome back students."

Elementary Schools
There will be no schedule changes to the calendar for elementary schools. Monday, September 23 will continue to be an elementary student holiday/staff workday. There are four elementary student holiday/staff workdays listed on the calendar: Sept. 23, Nov. 1, Feb. 17, and March 16. These apply to elementary students only and are used for teacher professional development and parent conferences.

The Lake Houston YMCA still has space available for their camp on Monday, Sept. 23,  which will be held at Lakeshore Elementary. For more information or to register, please contact the Lake Houston YMCA at 281-360-2500.

Middle Schools
There will be no schedule changes to the calendar for middle schools.

High Schools
Summer Creek and Quest Early College high schools will have no schedule changes. Atascocita, Humble, Kingwood, and Kingwood Park high schools will eliminate three late arrivals, which will be announced later in the school year.

"We look forward to welcoming our middle and high school students back on Monday, September 23, and our elementary students on Tuesday, September 24," said Mount.
