As the weather warms up, we’ll find more activities to do outside. Before heading outside, keep safety tips in mind:
Protect yourself from the sun. The sun can damage your skin in as little as 15 minutes. Be sure to wear sunscreen with at least SPF 15, sunglasses, hats and protective clothing.
Be aware of heat-related illnesses. Exposure to extreme heat can be dangerous, especially for children and older adults. Recognize warning signs of heat stroke, exhaustion, cramps and sunburn.
Stay hydrated. It’s important to drink plenty of water daily to prevent dehydration. Making sure you get enough water daily contributes to your overall health.
