Almost everyone and everything is on Instagram. From big-name celebrities like the Kardashians to public agencies like the Big Thicket National Preserve, the social media platform has proven to be a highly effective way of reaching large audiences.

It’s no wonder that right here in Texas our own homegrown influencers have been earning big bucks on the popular platform. So, with that in mind, here are some of the ones you need to follow right now.

Tina
Homemaker and decorator Tina knows a thing or two about turning houses into homes – just ask her 88,000 followers. In an interview, Tina reveals that her Instagram journey began when she was looking for things to do when her daughter was getting ready to leave home to be a junior in college. So she started pointing the camera at her own home and uploading the content on her account, thinking that her own friends and family might find her photos interesting. Little did she know that this would catapult her to a certain level of niche fame in the decorating world. And today, the 60-year old Texan is one of the fastest-rising stars on the platform.

Marissa Herrera

Although Marissa’s 15,000 followers puts her at the lower end of the spectrum (especially compared to other on this list), don’t let the numbers fool you. Through collaborations with local Texas businesses, her fashion-focused Instagram account can earn around $200 to $1,000 per post. This is actually much more than what most influencers with her numbers make on a regular basis. In fact, a post on Petal Card about the money Instagram influencers make, reveals that earning $200 per post is typically reserved for ‘middle-tier’ accounts or those with 50,000 to 80,000 followers. Marissa attributes this success to her unique body shape, her mix of low and high-brow chic styles, and her teenage daughter’s social media coaching.

Dominique Sachse

As a news anchor for KPRC 2 for the last 26 years, Dominique Sachse is no stranger to the limelight. In fact, Dominique started her Instagram and YouTube accounts in order to reply to viewers’ inquiries about her style in a more visual manner. Soon after, her discussions about her hair, makeup, and wardrobe expanded into topics like wellness in midlife and lifestyle advice – eventually earning her over 270,000 followers. Apart from being a well-known news anchor, Dominique now runs the go-to account for many Texans looking for life advice peppered with highly contagious positivity.

Emily Herren

You’ve probably already heard of Emily. Although she’s not an A-list actor, Austonia details that not only does she have over a million followers, but that her effortless outfits are available to those followers directly through her account. In short, Emily is an ideal example of how one can turn an Instagram following into a veritable fashion empire.

While these aren’t the only Texans that are making big bucks on the popular social media platform, these are the ones that you should definitely follow. As Instagram and other social platforms continue to gain popularity online, so will these influencers, as they continue to explore new opportunities.
