Four Humble ISD Board seats are up for reelection this year out of the seven-member board, with election day set to take place on May 1.
“This year, there are four scheduled board member elections, which are scheduled in intervals,” said Jamie Mount, director of communications for Humble ISD.
Currently, a total of seven candidates have filed for the upcoming election spread across Positions 1, 3, 4 and 5. For Position 1, incumbent Robert Sitton is currently running for re-election unopposed.
Clint Horn, Donte Washington and Christine Parker are running for Position 3 and are set to face off in the election unless other candidates enter the race. Lonnie Jackson, Kenneth Kirchhofer, and Chase Stevens are running for election in Position 4. Incumbent Martina Dixon is currently running unopposed for Position 5.
“The election will take place on May 1, although it is possible to vote early starting from April 19 up until April 27. Early voting hours during the weekdays will occur from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. during the weekdays, with weekend hours yet to be established. Voting hours during election day are set at 7 a.m.-7 p.m.,” said Mount.
“Humble ISD is currently collaborating with Harris County to set up the election. All voters that are eligible to vote, meaning those who live within Humble ISD, will be able to vote during the election. Harris County will provide a list of polling locations, which will be displayed on the Humble ISD webpage,” added Mount.
