On Sunday, March 15, 2020, at approximately 10:45 a.m., units with multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Humble ISD Police Department, Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting at the Atascocita High School sports complex, located at 13300 Will Clayton Parkway.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they found that the school was closed, but that 20 to 30 young adult males had jumped the fence surrounding the football field to play football.
Two of the males, Eric Willis and Jaqwaun Pradia, both 19, were former Humble ISD students and had a long history of disputes. When Pradia arrived at the football field, he was armed with a pistol. He chased Willis down the field and shot him multiple times, fleeing the scene in an unknown vehicle. Willis was then transported to Kingwood Hospital by Emergency Medical Services, where he was pronounced dead. Investigators with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit responded to the scene and conducted the investigation. Multiple witnesses at the scene identified Pradia as the person who shot Eric Willis. Investigators presented their findings to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and a murder warrant has been issued for Pradia.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit is conducting the investigation into the murder of Eric Willis. If anyone has any information regarding the location of Pradia, they should immediately call 911, the Homicide Unit at 713-274-9100, or call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.
