Humble children got an early Christmas present recently.
The Humble City Council voted to purchase new playground equipment for Schott Park. The council gave approval to replace the existing playground equipment located on the west side of Schott Park. The new equipment is expected to cost $132, 815.21. Schott Park is a and is located on Will Clayton Parkway.
Mayor Merle Aaron said, “We are looking forward, as are the children, to the new equipment. This will really be a great place for our kids to play.”
The council approved Resolution 19-818, naming Mike Sullivan as the city’s representative on the board of directors of the Harris County Appraisal District.
Additionally, personal locator or accountability devices were approved for the Humble Fire Department. These safety devices are currently owned by the county and were originally awarded in a grant, but are being donated to the firefighters of Humble.
The council also:
- Heard a presentation and discussed the development plat for 1205 North Houston Avenue,,a subdivision of 1.0090 acres of land out of the Wherry B. Adams Survey,A-95,being the remainder of Lot 5,,Lot 6 and the adjoining 20-foot strip between Lots 5 and 6 of the C. Bender North Addition to the City of Humble;
- Heard a presentation and discussed Bid 19-05 and awarded a contract to Eastex Utility Construction for the Spears Village Waterline and Force Main Replacement Project in the amount of $332,480.50.
To bring the meeting to closure, Councilmember David Pierce announced several local Christmas activities, inviting all attendees, friends and families.
