Severe Weather Impacting Houston. Pay Attention to Changing Conditions
The National Weather Service has begun issuing severe weather warnings for portions of Houston due to a strong thunderstorms moving through the area.
The potential impacts from this storm are damaging winds with 60mph gusts, heavy rain, frequent lightning, and pea-sized hail. Residents in the area may experience damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Residents should pay attention to changing conditions and to products issued by the National Weather Service. These are available online at weather.gov/houston or through local television and radio.
Heavy rains may also impact the area and it only take a few inches of water to float a vehicle. When you see water covering the road, Turn Around, Don't Drown®.
If a TORNADO WARNING is issued for your area, seek shelter Immediately.

Get In - Seek shelter in a sturdy structure.
Get Low - Find an interior room on the lowest floor possible.
Hold On - Grab onto a sturdy object and hold on.
Stay inside until the warning is allowed to expire.
