Rendering of the road work scheduled on West Lake Houston Parkway.

Houston Mayor Pro Tem Dave Martin would like to make Kingwood area residents aware Houston Public Works will begin a panel replacement project on West Lake Houston Parkway starting Thursday, Oct. 1, weather permitting. The scope of work includes replacing nine concrete panels along the northbound lanes between Magnolia Cove Drive and the Lake Houston YMCA. The cost of the project is $38,605and is funded through Martin's Council District Service Funds.

Crews will be mobilized on site beginning Thursday, Oct. 1, and the project is expected to be completed by Thursday, Oct. 22, weather permitting. Construction activities are expected to take place from Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and on Saturdays from 7 a.m.-noon.

As a result of the construction activities, be aware of flagmen and orange traffic cones that will be put in place on site to help with traffic flow through the construction zone as the project will require one lane closure. Two-way traffic will always be maintained. Businesses and residents will always have access to driveways and sidewalks and may experience an increase in noise levels due to trucks and equipment in the area.
