LSC-Kingwood invites public to patriotic concert The Kingwood Big Band will celebrate Americas birthday early with a patriotic concert on Saturday, June 28 at Lone Star College-Kingwood. The Patriotic Celebration Concert, also sponsored by the Rotary Club of East Montgomery County, will take place at 2 p.m. in the colleges Student-Conference Center. The band will perform jazz favorites and well-known music from the Big Band era in honor of the Independence Day Holiday. We want people to come out on June 28 and enjoy a wonderful concert presented by the LSC-Kingwood Big Band, under the direction of Alfredo Vlez, in honor of our countrys birthday, said Dr. Suann Hereford, counselor and professor in the Science and Health Occupations division at LSC-Kingwood, and president-elect of the Rotary Club of East Montgomery County. Tickets to the Independence Celebration Concert are $10 for general admission and $5 for students ages 18 and younger. Children under 12 are free. Tickets are available at the door. Proceeds from this concert will benefit LSC-Kingwood music scholarships and other Rotary projects.
