A total of 95 Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital employees and physicians were honored recently for their "people-pleasing" factor, and three departments were honored for their high level of patient satisfaction during the hospital's January "iWOWed" (i'm Working On Wonderful every day) celebration. Eleven hospital employees and one member of the hospital's medical staff were singled out for reaching the highest level – the Glow level – for receiving 20 or more compliments from co-workers, patients and visitors since the fiscal year began on July 1. The Glow employees are: Trish Miller of the Cardiopulmonary Department, Jackie Staley of the Endoscopy Department, Michelle Eby, Karen Kolar, Hannele Miettinen, Janice Pfitzer and Beverly Yarbrough of Surgical Services; Paula Nabors of Women’s Services, Antionette Hutchinson of the Surgical Care Unit, Steve O’Connor of the Emergency Center, and Bryan Dilli of the Radiology Department. Also honored as a "glow" recipient was Dr. Parendra Banker. There was a three-way tie for the department with the highest patient satisfaction score. The Patient Access Department, Day Surgery Department and Diagnostic Imaging Department received the highest patient satisfaction score in the 99th percentile. The Cardiac Care Unit/MS3 was the department that showed the most improvement in patient satisfaction, moving from the 34th to the 76th percentile. In addition to the 12 individuals who earned the top Glow award, 11 employees were honored for achieving the gold level for earning at least 15 compliments, 33 employees were honored for achieving the silver level for receiving at least 10 compliments, and 39 employees achieved the bronze level for receiving at least five compliments.
