Mission Northeast, or The Mission, will hold their 7th annual luncheon and style show Monday, Sept. 27, at the East Montgomery County Improvement District Building, located at 21575 Hwy 59 North in New Caney. Doors open at 11 a.m. for guest reception, silent auction and bid board; items include a Coach handbag, Southern Living “must haves,” restaurants and entertainment baskets, and much more. Luncheon guests will be seated at 11:45 a.m. for a delicious buffet luncheon catered by Amedeo’s Restaurant. Tribune Newspapers owner Cynthia Calvert will emcee the event. The exciting fall fashion style show will be presented by Caron McMahon, Independent Wardrobe Consultant. Jewelry will be provided by Stella and Dot consultant Courtney Green. Floral arrangements are from Flowers of Kingwood, with table coverings from Elegant Beginnings. Highlights of the luncheon include special presentations by Mission Northeast clients who will share how The Mission has changed their lives. The prestigious Joe Boyd Community Service Award will be presented to a person or organization that has made significant contributions to the community through volunteerism. A silent auction will replace last year's raffle. The tables will be pre-set with drinks, salads and desserts, and guests will go to the buffet lines by table. Table friends will be kept together. Last year was a sell-out, and several table sponsors have committed this year. Make your reservations now, as seating is limited to 200. Tables are for eight, and sponsorships are: $3,500 (Benefactor); $1,500 (Mission Star); $500 (Mission Friend); $40 (Individual seat) Mission Northeast is a faith-based agency that has served the community for more than 15 years with food, clothing, household items, Adult education and job skills training; disaster and emergency relief distributions; Mission Possible summer program for children; Feed My Lambs lunch program; chapel; site for Project Mammogram; Thanksgiving and Christmas distributions, and more.
