For those who remember the famous 1980 movie “Caddy Shack,” the theme of the 19th Annual Party on the Green was very familiar. This annual event was held at the Kingwood Country Club on May 1, and guests were encouraged to dress in golf attire or as their favorite “Caddy Shack” character. Some attendees got into the “swing” of things by dressing as the Bill Murray and Chevy Chase characters from the movie, complete with props. Guests enjoyed music, games, a live and silent auction, and a food buffet provided by Tony and Leslie Raffa, owner of Amedeo’s Italian Restaurant and Raffa’s Waterfront Grill. The annual Golf Classic is the largest and most popular fundraiser that the Lake Houston Area Chamber puts on each year. The Kingwood Medical Center was this year’s Presenting Sponsor, and Golf Committee Co-Chairs were Dan Huberty of Clean Energy and Robert Sitton of Edward Jones Investments. Other sponsors included Eagle Sponsor: Administaff; Birdie Sponsors: Berkeley Eye Center, Texan GMC, The Tribune Newspapers and The Observer Newspapers; Par Sponsors: Center Point Energy, Citizens Bank/Humble Banking Center, Lone Star College-Kingwood, Plains State Bank, Schuff Steel Co., Service King Collision & Repair-Humble, The Clubs of Kingwood, and Waste Connections of Texas; Hole-In-One Sponsors: Harley Davidson of Kingwood, Lavezzari Insurance, and Texan GMC.
