The Lambda Delta Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International recently completed a book project supporting area teachers who are new to the teaching profession and area elementary schools. Lambda Delta Officers and members of the Projects Committee met to coordinate the distribution of books.
Lambda Delta is donating 257 books to early career educators and schools nominated by their members. Books will benefit school libraries and the classroom collections of teachers at Foster, Park Lakes, Ridge Creek and River Pines Elementary Schools in Humble ISD; at Bens Branch Elementary in New Caney ISD; and at Monahan and Garrett Elementary Schools in Sheldon ISD.
The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International (DKG) is a professional honor society for key women educators and has approximately 82,000 members in 17 countries. Lambda Delta members have chosen to make a difference in education worldwide through their chapter projects, including support for Early-career Educators. DKG membership is an honor and is offered by invitation from a local chapter to professional educators and retired educators.
