The community can rejoice in the holiday season as celebrated by 19th-century Texas settlers Saturday, Dec. 6, from 4 to 7 p.m. Festivities begin with live musical performances by Aldine ISD Honor Choir, Kingwood High School Madrigals and Paragon Brass Ensemble at Jones Park’s outdoor stage. Then attendees will enjoy wassail, a shortbread cookie tasting, Christmas caroling and the lighting of the tree at Redbud Hill Homestead.
Additional features include a live nativity display presented by Berean Baptist Church, scenes of an old-fashioned Christmas Eve in the cabin, and Santa’s workshop. Little ones can also enjoy a holiday craft and photos with Santa in a covered wagon.
Jesse Jones Park Volunteers will offer a hotdog combo for $4 per person or a roast pork dinner plate for $8 per person. Reservations are required and may be made beginning Wednesday, Nov. 19, for Harris County residents and Monday, Nov. 24, for non-Harris County residents.
