Fit Fest - It's not too late!

Cutline: Kay Caffey leads a group of line dancers at the Kingwood Community Center. It's that time of year. Time to get those New Year's resolutions into practice. For many, getting in better shape is on the list. The Kingwood Community Center (KWCC) will be hosting Fit Fest Jan. 18 and the community is invited to check out the range of activities offered at the center. Organizers said the purpose of Fit Fest is to encourage people of all ages to stay active, exercise regularly and maintain a healthy lifestyle. The event is free of charge and open to the public. Exhibitions will be given by all the fitness instructors who host classes at the KWCC. Each exhibition will last about 20 minutes. Attendees can learn more about the offerings and then choose those of most interest to them. The following classes will be hosting exhibitions: Line Dancing by Kay Caffey, Pilates by Katharine Barber, Aerobics by Melissa Dismukes, Mat Yoga by Cathy Greer and Zumba by Aisha Martin. Whether you participate in just one activity or all of them, you will not regret it. After a good workout you never say, 'Man, I wish I wouldnt have done that.' So come on out to Kingwood Fit Fest 2014 and get your sweat on! said Facility Manager Justin Hagendorf. Hagendorf said all members of the community are welcome, not just those who live in Kingwood. My Fit Foods, also in Kingwood, will be providing some samples of their offerings as well. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m, at the KWCC, 4102 Rustic Woods Drive, in Kingwood.
