Cutline 1: Harris County Pct. 4 Constable Ron Hickman’s Office recently held “Operation Turkey Dinner” and delivered fully cooked dinners to needy families across north Houston. The dinners fed a family of six to eight and consisted of an oven roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, old fashioned stuffing, turkey gravy, dinner rolls, cranberry sauce, a pumpkin pie and a 2 liter soft drink. Cutline 2: The City of Humble held the annual Christmas parade recently. Girl Scout Troop 9549 was represented by Saylor Robinson, Serenity Clinton and Paige Clark. Memorial Hermann Northeast employees donated 10,044 pounds of food, surpassing their goal by 44 pounds. TEXAS GULF COAST GARDNER SESSION Mercer Arboretum & Botanic Gardens and The Mercer Society (TMS), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, are now offering the third and final segment of the Texas Gulf Coast Gardener (TGCG) program beginning Monday, Jan. 27, for a six-week period on-site at Mercer. Tier 3 classes focus on landscape design, the use of hardscapes and water features in the landscape, and sustainable design practices. Classes will be held every Monday from Jan. 27 through March 3, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., with a one-hour lunch break. The cost of enrollment for TMS members is $100; enrollment for non-members is $115.
