A parade permit for Rock Star Capital Management’s third annual Breast Cancer Walk was approved by the Humble City Council at its July 26 meeting. The parade will be Oct.13 from 9-11 a.m. The permit was approved by a unanimous vote by the council.
Councilman Ray Calfee stated, “I think it’s good. Anything we can do to help them, we will try to do.”
The parade will assemble at City Hall and will take the following route: Bender to Main, to Houston, to Granberry, to the railroad and back to Main.
The motion to approve Ordinance No. 18-824 regarding minimum parking requirements for hotels was also met with unanimous council support. City regulations now require that hotels provide one parking space for each sleeping room.
Mayor Merle Aaron requested that someone motion the approval of the Used Property Agreement by and between the city of Humble and Lone Star College-Kingwood Campus; Councilman Andy Curry moved that it be approved.
The council voted to approve a variance request by Landmark Structures. The company requested that work be performed related to the elevated storage tank between the hours of 5 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Landmark Structures requested the 5 a.m. start time due to extreme heat during the summer months. However, they have agreed that concrete pours would not occur prior to 7 a.m. and that the entire project would not extend beyond four weeks.
