LSC-Kingwood’s Theatre Department doesn’t exit without awards

Lone Star College-Kingwood’s recent production of “No Exit” was one of two shows awarded a superior rating at the 2013 Texas Community College Speech & Theatre Association play festival hosted by LSC-Tomball. The superior rating is the highest rating awarded at this festival. In addition, all of the LSC-Kingwood students involved in the production received individual acknowledgement of their outstanding work. Eric Sandell and Sydney Canaan received excellence in acting awards from both of the festival respondents. Natalie Jinks (stage manager) and Benjamin Peets (assistant stage manager) received superior in stage management awards from the directors. Tarryn Shelman (lighting technician/assistant master electrician) received a superior in lighting award from the directors. Bruce Moran took home top honors. He received the J. Greg Schneider tech challenge award from the festival respondents, making him the best technician of the festival. He also received a superior in sound design from the respondents (only three superior tech awards were given), and he received a superior in sound design from the directors.
