Kingwood Medical Center recently honored Belle McGinnis, RN on the Surgical Oncology Unit, as the 2nd Quarter Shining Star award recipient for shining like a star, inspiring others and contributing to the success of Kingwood Medical Center. The award is part of Kingwood Medical Center’s Shining Star program to recognize those employees who go beyond the call of duty, every day.
Melinda Stephenson, Kingwood Medical Center’s Chief Executive Officer, said, “Belle has worked at Kingwood Medical Center for six years. She started as a staff nurse and is now a charge nurse on the surgical oncology unit, and is a great example of our shining star. This award is very descriptive of Belle McGinnis. The unit is better because of her, and our patients are blessed to have been cared for by her.” Her team holds her in high esteem, stating that “Belle starts and ends every day with a smile and somehow manages to make sure that everyone on the team feels her warmth.” She has earned the respect of her peers, co-workers and other healthcare professionals for her clinical expertise and ability to unite the team especially during their busiest times. Her goal has become everyone’s goal … exemplary, safe patient care.
Belle was so humbled by this honor, stating, “I couldn’t do this job without God and my team. I am so thankful for the blessing of working alongside my patients, and the wonderful team of professionals at Kingwood Medical Center.”
