The Northeast Houston Realtor Board held its monthly meeting on Thursday, Nov. 19 at Rico’s on Kingwood Drive. Keynote speakers included Mark Tollefsrud, vice president sales and marketing for Legend Homes and Jim Rorison, Houston division president for Pulte Homes. Fidelity National Home Warranty sponsored the event. The new group is a collection of top agents from the area that meets once a month to discuss trends and challenges facing local realtors. The group is headed by Douglas Erdy from Keller Williams. This month’s meeting included an update on group fundraisers including toys for tots and clothing for homeless veterans. The highlight of the event was a roundtable discussion with both Tollefsrud and Rorison discussing a multitude of topics, including an anticipated upturn in home sales thanks to the extension of tax credits to home buyers. The previous tax credit to new home buyers had a noticeable spike that quickly dropped after it expired in August. The extension will now have more relaxed rules as to who can qualify. Congressman Ted Poe is the planned keynote speaker for the next meeting.
