“Wild About Wayne” event held at Raffa’s American Bistro A “Wild About Wayne” fundraiser was recently held in support of Wayne Garrison, a candidate for Houston City Council District E. Close to 50 people from the Kingwood and Clear Lake areas arrived in support of Garrison to enjoy a five-course meal served by Chef David Welch and owner Tony Raffa at Raffa’s American Bistro. A wine education course was presented, and wine pairings were presented with each course, donated by CJ’s Promotions, Inc. Garrison’s wife, Millie, was excited about the event. “This is a wonderful event,” she said. “It is always nice to enjoy a great dinner with our friends and supporters.” Garrison opened his own law firm in Kingwood in 2004. He is an executive board member with Humble Area Assistance Ministries, a member of the Kingwood and Clear Lake chambers of commerce, and is involved with the Rotary Club International, Kingwood Chapter. When asked why he wanted to run for city council, Garrison replied, “To put my conservative business and advocacy skills to work for the people of the district, to ensure we receive the sorely needed services and infrastructure to enhance the quality of life for all citizens of District E.” He and his wife Millie live in Kingwood with their two children. The Garrison Campaign will be hosting a barbecue and free concert in Town Center on Saturday, Sept. 12. The concert will be free to the public and tickets for barbecue will be $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. There will also be a cash bar available.
