Humble Area Chamber hosts inaugural picnic

Although summer is almost gone and the kids are back in school, it doesn’t mean that outdoor fun needs to stop. On Saturday, Sept. 26, the Humble Area Chamber will host their inaugural “Chamber Picnic” from 11-5 p.m. The event will be held at H&H Ranch located at 4000 Greens Road. The event is intended for chamber members, their staff, family and friends, to enjoy a fun-filled day and fellowship. “The Chamber Picnic is not a fund-raiser,” said Stephanie Biondolillo, special events director for the Humble Area Chamber. Prospective members of the chamber are also invited; however, the picnic is not open to the general public and tickets will not be sold at the door. Tickets for this event are $20 for adults, $15 for kids (3-18 years) and children under the age of 2 are free. Lunch will be served from 12-2 p.m. in the Magnolia Mining Pavilion. Traditional Texas brisket and sausage barbecue, with all the fixings, is on the menu. Hot dogs will be served in the kiddie area from 2-4 p.m. with complimentary popcorn available throughout the day. For adults, a cash bar will also be on site. Attendees are welcome to bring their bathing suits and cool off while tubing down H&H’s lazy river. Other activities include a hayride, moonwalk, inflatable obstacle course, merry-go-round, boat carousel, wading pool and paddleboats. Anglers can bring fishing gear and try out the catch-and-release fish pond. Additional sporting events include sand volleyball, basketball, softball and horseshoes. Tickets can be reserved online at humbleareachamber.org by clicking on the event calendar. Tickets can also be purchased at the chamber office located at 110 W. Main in downtown Humble. The deadline for ordering tickets for the picnic is Sept. 21, and additional information can be obtained by calling Biondolillo at 281-319-8902.
