This year’s event honors USO A fabulous time was had by all at the eighth annual Spring Fling, held May 16 at Eden Terrace. Located in Kingwood. Eden Terrace is a senior living community that offers various options for independent and assisted living. The Spring Fling is a semi-annual event held for the community. Linda Steinke, program director for Eden Terrace, said it is an event many enjoy. “It’s for the entire community,” she said. “It’s a get-together for everyone, just for fun.” This year’s theme honored the U.S.O. and the Armed Forces, which was fitting given the Memorial Day weekend. The staff dressed in military attire, an antique military jeep was on display, and live music, presented by Bill Parish, was patriotic in theme. “Bill Parish is the entertainer we use here quite often,” said Steinke. “He is excellent.” The festivities included face painting, balloon animals, skits, live music and a barbecue lunch. Guests enjoyed sausage on a stick, potato salad, baked beans, ice cream and snow cones. Vendors represented medical supplies, home health agencies and jewelry. Steinke said this celebration is something residents and staff always look forward to. “It’s great because it brings staff, family and friends together for one great afternoon,” she said.
