Holy Trinity Episcopal School’s 2009 Annual Gala – Titans at the Taj Mahal – will be held beginning at 6 p.m. March 7 at The Plaza Downtown, 300 Milam. All are welcome, and an elegant evening of dinner, dancing, auctions, a raffle and more is planned for guests’ enjoyment. HTES is a private, college-preparatory school that first opened nine years ago. Currently serving students in grades PreK-3 through eighth grade, an upper school including grades nine and 10 will open next fall. This is a young school with no endowment, and the annual gala is held to supplement the school’s operating costs and financial aid program. Gala co-chairs Ruth Davies and Angela Hall have coordinated a large variety of items and packages for the silent and live auctions. Just a few of the items available to bid on include golf getaway packages, a quail hunting trip, a Napa Valley wine country getaway, an ultimate Florida vacation, a resort package at Cabo San Lucas, a portrait package, golf lessons, spa packages, and much more. Hall is enthusiastic about the opportunity this gala provides. “This gala is our one fundraiser for this year,” she said. “We usually have a fall festival and golf tournament, but because of Hurricane Ike that did not happen.” In addition to the auctions, music will be provided by The Party Favors Band, a delicious dinner will be served, and raffle items will be available. “We need to maximize what we can do with this gala,” she said. “What we earn with these auctions will help us with the education, enrichment and financial aid necessary for the children.” Individual tickets for the gala are $125 or $800 for a table for eight.
