Joiner triplets celebrate birthday

Rylee, Jaden and Colton celebrated their fourth birthday Oct. 1 with fire engines and a party where they were surrounded by family and friends. The triplets are the children of Chad Joiner of Lakeshore, and grandchildren of Carl and Colene Joiner, of Kingwood. Despite early setbacks at birth — the triplets were born weighing approximately two pounds each — they enjoy a healthy, active lifestyle now as “youngsters.” “They have progressed from 2-pound babies in neonatal care to active, energetic, adorable young children busy with soccer and baseball,” said Colene Joiner. Rylee, the eldest and the leader of the group, enjoys cheerleading and likes the color pink. Her brother, Colton, the middle triplet, is very loving and generous, and happens to be the more serious of the three. Jaden, the youngest, enjoys playing soccer and baseball, and is always happy and cheerful. The triplets’ special day included a visit to the Atascocita Volunteer Firehouse No. 3, where they were entertained with an array of activities that firefighters and EMS personnel assisted with. “The firefighters and EMS guys were wonderful,” said Joiner. “The kids spent more than an hour with the staff and were allowed to sit in the firetruck and ambulance, turn on the sirens, and even got to shoot water from the hose.” After their visit to the firehouse, Rylee, Colton and Jaden were treated to a Dora and Diego party with family and friends where they opened presents, enjoyed cake and smashed into a piñata.
