Let’s go Vegas

The Humble Area Chamber’s third annual ‘Ladies Night Out’ promises fun, excitement and a taste of the City of Lights, as the Chamber brings Las Vegas to Humble Nov. 6 at the Humble Civic Center. “Diva Las Vegas” will have shopping and pamper stations, casino-inspired games, stick pony races and a Las Vegas-style buffet. There will be prizes throughout the evening and one lucky lady will have the chance to win the raffle grand prize- a trip for two to Las Vegas donated by presenting sponsored The Gold Exchange. The Gold Exchange will also donate diamond stud earrings as second prize and a gold bracelet as third prize. Tickets for the raffle are $5, or $20 for five tickets. Entertainment will include, “Men on Fire.” These are firefighters who appear on the 2008 fireman’s calendar and will pose for photos. Elvis impersonator Greg Winston will also be on hand. “Guests are encouraged to dress for the theme with furs, boas and lots of glitz,” said Stephanie Biondolillo, special event director. “But anything goes. I’m sure nurses coming straight from work will be in their scrubs.” Biondolillo said the main thing is to come and have fun. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Women helping Women Endowment Fund at Lone Star College-Kingwood. The endowment helps mature women go back to college by providing financial aid to cover items such as tuition, books and childcare. “It’s a chance to assist some very deserving women in the community,” said Yvette Bryars, event chairwoman. The ladies only event will be held Thursday, Nov. 6, 6-10 p.m. at the Humble Civic Center, 8233 Will Clayton Parkway. Individual tickets can be purchased at the Chamber office or online at www.ladiesnightoutonline.com. Ticket prices start at $60 and include a casino-style buffet, one pamper ticket and a commemorative ‘Ladies Night Out’ bag. Oct. 31 is the last day to buy tickets or “Show Girl” tables by calling the Chamber. Tickets will not be sold at the door.
